"These two classes paired together were some of my best classes this year."

What Are Learning Communities?
Learning Communities are combinations of classes that have the same group of students and share a theme or topic.

What are the Advantages of Learning Communities?

  • Complete two or more courses in one package! Many of the communities include two GE transfer courses.

  • You have a community of student-colleagues and instructors to help you learn!

  • Approach topics from different disciplines or perspectives!

  • Learn valuable problem-solving strategies!

  • Grasp related subjects and skills more easily when they are combined!

What are the two different types of Learning Communities you can join?

Integrated Courses

Two or three classes are woven together to examine a theme. Subject matter, materials, and assignments are united. A team of teachers and the same set of students attend all class sessions.

Clustered Courses

Two or more related classes are linked. The same set of students attends all of the classes in the cluster, but all of the teachers may not be in the room at the same time. The course goals and assignments are coordinated.
