Accreditation Information
Accreditation for California community colleges is a voluntary, non‑governmental process overseen by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), which is recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and CHEA (accjc.org). This peer‑review system ensures that colleges meet agreed‑upon standards of academic quality, institutional effectiveness, and continuous improvement—helping students, employers, and other institutions trust that degrees or credits earned are valid and transferable (information.auditor.ca.gov).
