Q: How can I give my
ideas?
A: Have a Good Word? If you'd like to praise a class or instructor,
register an opinion (good or bad) about either, or make suggestions about
our programs and classes, grab a Student Comment Form, fill it out, and give
it to your instructor or to the Division Dean, Chris Rhoden. The forms are
in translucent 9 X 12 pockets in Building 500's main hall and near the
instructors' offices by Room 513. To be fast and efficient, click on
Student Comments and fill in the form on-line.

Q: I need a typing
test for a job application. May I take this test at SCC?

Q: I am a typist and want to take an advanced
keyboarding class, but the system won't let me register.
A: If you have not completed 3 units of Beginning Keyboarding at SCC, first
enroll in OT 54 (Beginning Keyboarding) to reserve a seat on the day(s) and
time you want the class, then take a placement test. Keyboarding tests will
be given at scheduled times. Call 864-7258 (from Benicia or
Vallejo, 552-4330, ext. 258) and speak
with Pat Ceja, Instructional Assistant, for the dates and times.
Appointments are not necessary, but you must be there on time.

Q: The course I want to take has a
prerequisite. I already have the requisite knowledge, but I haven't taken
the prerequisite course at Solano.
A: All students who have completed the requisite course at another school
will need written verification (unofficial transcript, grade report,
instructor affidavit, or the like) from the school at which the course(s) was taken and
a copy of the catalog description of that course.
More detailed prerequisite
information.
Computer and Information Science (CIS) students should talk to or e-mail a
computer instructor. If you have the knowledge, you probably have satisfied
the prerequisite; in which case, permission will be entered electronically
at the division office.
Look on our web site to find the instructors' e-mail addresses and campus
phones.
Office Technology students who require Nursing 111, Medical Terminology, or
OT 101, Human Diseases, may choose to take exams in either or both courses.
Call the Assessment Center at 864-7116 to make an appointment. Transcripts
from other schools should be accompanied by a catalog description of courses
comparable to Nursing 111 and OT 101. Medical Coding students should call
864-7179.
