Vacaville CenterIntroduction

The Vacaville Center of Solano Community College was opened in October of 1996.  It is located at 2000 North Village Parkway. The phone number is 707-863-7872. The Center offers transfer-level lower division courses in general education, as well as job-training courses in computer applications, fire science, criminal justice, and other vocational programs.  Application and registration information is available from the SCC Home page.

The office is sometimes closed from noon to 1:00 p.m.  We advise that you call before coming out during the lunch hour and on Fridays to verify the office hours.  The Center phone number is 707-863-7872.

Location

Vacaville CenterThe Vacaville Center is located north of the City of Vacaville at 2000 North Village Parkway, just off of Vaca Valley Parkway. Parking at the Center is regulated. You must purchase either a semester-long SCC parking permit or a daily permit ($1 in quarters) available from a machine in the Center parking lot.

There will be a new driveway into the Vacaville Center parking lot. Construction crews will be closing Akerly Drive beginning Friday, August 19. Those driving to the Center from the east (from Leisure Town Road, past Kaiser) will simply be turning right into the driveway just past the former turn onto Akerly. Those approaching the Center from I-505 or the west side of Vaca Valley Parkway will need to make a U-turn at the former Akerly Drive and come back to the entrance. The construction company has promised to post large signs and to alert the City of possible traffic issues on Vaca Valley Parkway beginning on August 22.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call 707-864-7000 extension 4587.

Vacaville CenterFrom Fairfield/Vacaville

Take I-80 East to I-505. Exit on I-505 and drive about ½ mile to the Vaca Valley Parkway exit.  Turn right off  the exit and go one block to 2000 North Village Parkway. Turn left on to North Village Parkway and you will see the entrance to the Center.



Vacaville CenterFrom Davis/Dixon

Take I-80 West to the Leisure Town Road exit. Go straight at the light onto Vaca Valley Parkway. Continue straight to 2000 North Village Parkway and turn right. Turn left into the Center parking lot.

Vacaville CenterStudent Resource Room

The Center has a Student Resource Room with three computers equipped with the latest software for student use.  The Resource Room is available from 9:00 a.m. to noon and
1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday.  The Resource Room can also be reserved for small study groups.  Call the Center at 707-863-7872 for more information.

Please do not leave a voice mail message requesting a counseling appointment. It is advisable to see a counselor early to help you select your classes, clear prerequisites, and develop your educational plan.

Assessment Testing (English Placement, Reading, and Ability to Benefit (ATB)) will be available at the Vacaville Center during scheduled dates and times. The computerized tests are self-paced. Students wishing to take the test must have a current application on file, know their Solano Community College student ID number and provide a photo I.D. Testing is conducted on a first-come, drop-in basis. Childcare is not available. Please call the Center at 707-863-7872 to learn the most recent information regarding assessment testing.

Please note: The ATB test takes approximately two (2) hours to complete. You must allow enough time to complete the test in one session (by closing time).

Vacaville CenterBook/Supply Purchases

There is no Bookstore at the Vacaville Center. Books must be purchased at the SCC Bookstore either in-person at the main campus or online. Scantron sheets, Blue Books and computer disks are sold at the Center.
