CSU GE Worksheet Instructions

See a counselor for explanation of this agreement.   Don’t use this form if you may transfer to the University of California (UC).  See IGETC.

This agreement allows certification of completion of lower-division (freshman-sophomore) General Education for transfer to the CSU (California State University) System.  If the entire agreement is not completed before transfer, it may be certified by Area.

A student may take at Solano College a maximum of 39 of the total 48 units toward meeting the general education requirement.  The remaining 9 units must be completed in upper division courses at the university.  No more than 30 semester units may be certified from Areas B, C, and D combined.

30 Units of CSU General Education must be completed before transfer with a grade of C or better, including:

  • Area A Communications (Speech 1, English 1 and Critical Thinking)
  • Area B1 Math.

In Area D, you can use the two courses required for the American History and Institutions as two of the three courses (9 units):

  • Political Science 1 or 5 for Government AND
  • US History or American Studies with a # sign.

Although there are no catalog rights to CSU GE, to be counted for certification, a course must be listed at the time completed.

Students using this agreement may also qualify for Option A for an SCC Associate Degree by completing:

  1. 60 units

  2. Option A General Education including the Reading Requirement

  3. The 2-course Health/PE Requirement

  4. An SCC Associate Degree Major of at least 18 units, AND

  5. A petition for graduation by the calendar deadline.

When you send your transcript to a particular university which has requested it, also request certification of CSU GE from the SCC Office of Admissions & Records (OAR).
