Veterans Affairs
Pay Rates
Effective October 1, 2004
The VA pays for attendance from the
beginning date of the course to the end of the course and is only
combined with other courses for payment purposes if the attendance
period is the same. The rate of pay is determined by the number of units
you are enrolled in.
Short–term courses are normally
paid at an accelerated rate (i.e., a 3-unit 18-week course is offered in
an 8-week time frame). The VA, in this case, will pay you as if you were
enrolled in 6 units.
Variable unit course - If you
enroll in a variable unit course, you will be certified for the least
number of attainable units in this course. At the end of the course, you
can be recertified and receive additional funds if warranted; for
instance, a class offered as 1-3 units will be certified as 1 unit.
