First time
applying for Education Benefits:
Step 1: Complete VA Application for Educational Benefits
Step 2: Submit the following information to the Office of Veterans
Affairs on campus

DD 214
Member 4 (Chapters 30, 32 & 1607) (1607 student can also bring in
Certificate of Release or proof of discharge from Active Duty in lieu of
the DD 214 Member 4)

The
Regional Office will contact you for an appointment
to
establish eligibility and create an Education Goal (This processes
can take up to 90 days) **This is processes is required in order for
the student to be able to use Chapter 31 Education Benefits**
Step 2: Meet
with Solano Community College VA Counselor
-
Contact our office to make an appointment with the VA Counselor
to set up an Education Plan based on the Education Goal the Vocational
Rehabilitation (Voc Rehab) Counselor has designed
-
Ask your VA Voc Rehab Counselor to submit your Vocational
Rehabilitation Authorization (VA Form 28-1905) to our office prior to
your appointment date
-
Bring all important paperwork regarding your approval for Chapter 31
Guest
Students:

Submit a Parent School Letter from the Certifying Official form
your current school.

Register for your courses with SCC
-
Complete Status Form and turn into Veterans Affairs Office
