Program Description This program is designed for business students planning to transfer to the University of California and / or the California State University systems. The Business Transfer Degree If you are thinking about majoring in business, congratulations! It is an exciting and diverse field of study, and you have many major options or concentrations. Today, the traditional majors- such as accounting, marketing, finance, computer programming, and management-are often combined with other fields, such as agriculture, communications, teaching, and engineering. Studies show that a student who transfers from Solano Community College to a four-year college to complete a baccalaureate degree does better than the student who started in the four-year college. And the cost for the first two years is substantially less! Regardless of your ultimate objective or where you enroll, the first two years are generally spent completing the general education requirements and the lower division (freshman and sophomore level) core requirements for the business major. At Solano Community College you can complete both the general education requirements and the lower division core requirements for majors in business. This College has agreements with the University of California, the California State Universities, and many private colleges to accept our equivalent courses. The Solano Community College Counseling Center can provide you with information about transferring to a specific college. To achieve the: Associate in Science Degree - Completion of a total of 60 units, including the 26-unit major with a grade of "C" or better in each course, and the general education requirements. Certificate of Achievement - Completion of the 26-unit major with a grade of "C" or better. Required Courses

BUS 19 Suggested general education math courses for the Business, General (Transfer) major are MATH 11 (Statistics) and MATH 15 (Finite Math) OR MATH 30 (Analytical Geometry and Calculus). Students should consult a counselor regarding Business Articulation Agreements for a particular college or university campus.
