The Foundation seeks to provide students with sufficient scholarships to ensure that no Solano County resident is denied access to at least an associate degree because of financial need. Endowments provide Solano College with predictable and assured sources of financial assistance that guarantee economic accesses to higher education for those who may be economically disadvantaged. Scholarships are managed by both the Solano College Scholarship Foundation and Financial Aid. To establish a scholarship You can honor someone
special by having his or her name permanently engraved on our donor wall
with a minimum contribution of $100. With a gift of $500, we will engrave
the name of your choice on our Millennium Wall. A donation of $3,000
establishes and endowed Sophomore Scholar award providing faculty with the
opportunity to reward sophomore-level students with partial scholarships
in recognition of their academic achievement. $500 annual endowed
scholarships can be established with a $10,000 commitment and the pledge
can be paid over several years. You as a donor designate the name of the
scholarship and its qualifications. Who invests and
administers your donation? The Foundation is a separate
not-for-profit, IRS approved 501(c)(3) corporation chartered to provide
financially for the educational needs of Solano College. Approximately 20
community leaders volunteer generously of their time, talent, and
resources to support Solano College’s students by serving on the
Foundation’s Board of Directors. What counts as a gift? Contributions may be made by
cash, check, credit card (Visa or Master Card), securities, gifts or
property or other saleable assets, bequests, revocable or irrevocable
trusts, charitable gift annuities, and electronic transfer funds. Interested? Contact Dr. Charles Shatzer, Foundation Director. |
