Waiver Program All California residents are encouraged to apply for a state funded Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGFW) to meet the California Community College mandatory enrollment fee. By completing a one page application at least 24 hours before registration, students may be considered for one of the fee waivers as follows: BOGFW-A: You or your family are receiving public assistance from the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or General Assistance/General Relief or have certification from the California Department of Veterans Affairs. BOGFW-B: You meet the following 2008-2009 income standards:
These standards are based upon the federal poverty guidelines as published each year by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Under Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, the income standards for the BOGFW program equal 150% of the federal poverty guidelines for the base year. These standards are for the 2008-2009 academic year and are to be used to determine BOGFW-B eligibility effective July 1, 2008. BOGFW-C: You have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), have "financial need" based on the Student Aid Report, and have six units.
