School of Liberal Arts

The faculty and staff of the School of Liberal Arts welcome you to a School that encompasses the disciplines and programs of art, interior design, music, photography, psychology, social science, sociology, speech, telecommunications (film & TV), theatre arts, foreign language, history, English, English as a second language, philosophy, literature, journalism, sign language, and political science. Our Art department consists of programs in Art History, painting, drawing, graphic arts and printmaking. Photography will teach you how to develop photographic film in our photo lab or to edit and print your digital photos. We also regularly offer a Travel Photography class to interesting destinations around the world. Our Speech and Debate team is a consistent state and national award winner.

The Dean of School of Liberal Arts also supervises the Solano College Theatre, and Distance Education and Basic Skills English Programs. The School of Liberal Arts also houses the Solano Community College Library where students can access reserve materials, multi-media, interact with Librarians or make use of the 60 PC information Commons.
