The goal of this program is to prepare students to enter the health care industry at an entry level position in two semesters. The Program requires students to successfully complete 17 units during two consecutive semesters. To increase the success of each student, students’ enroll as a group and progress through each class in the program together.
Although the schedule is still tentative, we anticipate a block of classes from 9-3 Monday through Thursday. To enter the program students must type 30 words per minute and are advised to meet Solano College's minimum reading and math skills.**

The program is designed to teach students medical terminology and a basic knowledge of pathological processes. Students will improve their word processing and typing skills. Filing-Records Management along with Medical Keyboarding is emphasized. Equipped with employable skills, students will learn how to write résumés and interview along with business etiquette.

** to enter program students must type 30 wpm and should meet SCC minimum reading and math skills. If your skills aren’t there, take OT 54 to build typing speed and accuracy and ENG 355 for reading competency, before starting the program.
