Circulation

Materials circulate only to patrons with a SNAP library card. You may apply for a library card at the Circulation Desk with a picture ID or a copy of your current class schedule. Books may be checked out for a four-week period and may be renewed twice if no holds exist.

Reserves

Reserve materials are books, text books, pamphlets, and audiovisual items that check out for 2 hours, 1 day, 1 week, etc., depending upon the instructor's request. The materials are located behind the Circulation desk. Videotapes that circulate are limited to two videos for a period of two days, and may not be renewed. Videotapes circulate only to SCC faculty, staff, and students presenting a SNAP library card and either:

» A current SCC ID or
» Proof of enrollment from the SCC Registrar and a picture ID

Abuse of textbook-reserve check out periods may result in (up to a) non-refundable $100 fine.
Back-to-back checkout periods are not permitted.

Fines

Fines for overdue books are 20 cents per item per day. Fines for overdue reserves vary by material type: from 25 cents to $5.00 per item per day.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan service, a system of borrowing and lending resources between libraries, is available to faculty, staff, and students. In most cases, the service is free.

Vertical File

The vertical file is comprised of pamphlets, brochures, newspaper clippings, and other ephemeral print items. Up to five items may be checked out at one time; two renewals are allowed.
