Solano Community College, 4000 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield, CA 94534-3197ASSC and the new Verdin Company Clock.

News and Events

The Associated Students of Solano College (ASSC) donated $22,000 toward the purchase of a fifteen feet tall, blue and white, four-faced Verdin clock. The Verdin Company has crafted clocks that have been installed worldwide, including the Smithsonian, Walt Disney World, the University of Notre Dame, the Mayo Clinic, and the World Peace Bell.

The installation of the street clock is envisioned in the Campus Enrichment Plan approved last spring by the Governing Board. The Campus Enrichment Plan, was developed by SCC staff, faculty, students, and administrators last year. The Plan, also funded by the ASSC through a grant of $28,000, provides a “road map” for campus outdoor planning. By their donation, ASSC expressed their desire to fund a project that could be enjoyed by the campus community and would enhance the quad area which is the “heart of the campus.”
