![]() News 07/28/09 - FEES INCREASE TO $26 PER UNIT FAIRFIELD, CA – On July 28, 2009, Governor Schwarzenegger signed AB 2X, the education trailer bill to the 2009-10 state budget, setting the community college enrollment fee at $26 per unit, effective for the Fall 2009 term. Districts are now authorized and required to charge the increased enrollment fee. Please note that the increased enrollment fee applies to students who have previously registered for the Fall term as well as new registrations. Colleges are obligated to collect the additional $6 per unit from students who have registered at $20 per unit. Solano Community College student will receive an e-mail notification of this fee increase with information on how to pay the fee online, in person or by mail. Students will be able to review their student account before the start of classes to see the amount due and will receive a billing statement in the mail. As usual, students are required to pay their fees within ten days of registration. Students will be expected to pay the increase in fees prior to the start of term. Failure to pay their fees will result in holds placed on their student records. STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL AID ARE COVERED Students who have previously applied for financial aid and qualified for a Board of Governors Fee Waiver will be fully covered and that no further action on their part is required. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE TO COVER FEE INCREASE Students who have not yet applied for financial aid can apply for assistance to pay for fees, books, and other expenses. See Financial Aid for details.
