Solano College is proud to announce that two Solano College athletic teams were named as state-wide winners of the 2004-2005 Scholar Team Award. Each year the State Commission on Athletics (COA) Awards Committee selects Scholar Teams based on a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments, including the team members’ average GPA and the team’s win/loss record and conference standing.

“Solano College is extremely proud to have been given the award for women’s soccer (3.28 GPA) and men’s basketball (3.10 GPA), two of the eight teams selected statewide. Our athletes are outstanding, not only on the field, but in the classroom,” stated Bob Myers, SCC Dean of Athletics.

Awards will be presented at the Ninth Annual State COA Convention to be held Wednesday, April 5th at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento. For more information about the COA Annual Convention, visit www.coasports.org.
