The Solano College Women's Soccer team held its annual soccer banquet Saturday May 2nd at the banquet facility at Stars in Vacaville. The award filled banquet put an end to the 2008 season.

All players, parents and guests viewed a Highlight DVD with Goals and Photos during the opening and dinner. Each player left the banquet with a DVD with highlights and photos. Following dinner each player was given a nice plaque with team and individual photos and then there was a 2 hour awards presentation that honored players from the 2008 team and the season.

Solano had its best season in program history finishing with an overall 17-5-1 record, ranked # 4 in Northern California and # 8 in the state. They were also Bay Valley Conference Champions with a perfect 8-0 record. Solano knocked off Diablo Valley College 2-1 in the 1st round of playoffs. They eventually were eliminated from the playoffs by Modesto in the 2nd round of the playoffs in Penalty Kicks 4-3 after playing to a 1-1 tie after 2 overtime periods. Modesto ended up being in the Final Four of state.

Katie Knopp and Adriana Vasquez were also All-Western Region, 1st Team All State and 1st Team All Nor-Cal.

Jeff Cardinal was named Coach of the Year for the Bay Valley Conference.
