EMPLOYEE ADVISORY FUNCTIONS 2020

POLICY:
In the development of rules, regulations and arrangements for the operation of the District, the Superintendent/President shall include at the planning stage, whenever feasible, those employees who will be affected by such provisions.

The Superintendent/President or designee shall meet with representatives of the Academic Senate, CTA, CSEA and Operating Engineers, Local 39 and Management on a regular basis for communication of ideas and concerns regarding the operation of the District. The Superintendent/President shall weigh all such counsel, especially that given by groups designated to represent large segments of the staff. He/she shall, where applicable, inform the Board of such counsel in presenting reports and in presenting recommendations for Governing Board action.

It is emphasized that the Governing Board considers such a cooperative endeavor as entirely advisory. Groups and committees wishing to present reports to the Governing Board shall communicate this desire to the Superintendent/President, and after a review of the material, the Superintendent/President will place the request on the Governing Board agenda for such a presentation. If a decision is requested, the Superintendent/President shall be prepared to make a recommendation.
