PREREQUISITES, CO-REQUISITES, AND COURSE ADVISORIES 6023

POLICY:
The Solano Community College District shall establish procedures for establishing, reviewing, and challenging of prerequisites, corequisites, course advisories, and certain limitations on enrollment in a manner consistent with law and good practice.

The Superintendent/President or Designee is authorized to establish prerequisites, corequisites and advisories on recommended preparation for courses in the curriculum. All such prerequisites, corequisites and advisories shall be established in accordance with the standards set out in Title 5. Any prerequisites, corequisites or advisories shall be necessary and appropriate for achieving the purpose for which they are established. The procedures shall include a way in which a prerequisite or corequisite may be challenged by a student on grounds permitted by law. Prerequisites, corequisites and advisories shall be identified in District publications available to students.
