In 2003-04 academic year, the Board of Governors directed all California community colleges to research student access, course completions, success in ESL and basic skills curriculum, degree and certificate completions, and transfers for various subpopulation of students and, where indicated, to develop plans to achieve equity among these groups. Data were drawn from the Management Information Systems of the California Community Colleges’ Chancellor’s Office and local student databases. Representatives from campus faculty, staff, managers, and students reviewed these data and developed a plan to address student equity issues. The Plan was adopted by the College’s Board of Trustees in June 2004.
