Most Frequently Asked Questions
Q:

Where do I log in?

A:

Go to SOLANOnline and then use your MySolano login credentials as your student id and password.

Q:

How do I register for an online class?

A:

Detailed instructions are here, but basically follow the same procedures you would for any class at Solano College -- log in to MySolano and then click on student and follow the prompts to register for a class.

Q:

How do I find out what courses are available?

A:

Look at the web version of the Schedule of Classes. To help you find only online courses, there is a set of step by step directions with pictures here.

Q:

Why can't I log in?

A:

The most common reason is that you aren't uploaded into the course shell yet, so check your MySolano email. You will get a letter with directions as soon as you are uploaded into the course. There are other issues too sometimes, so if you continue to have problems, email de@solano.edu.

If you are already registered for a SOLANOnline course, you should get an email in your MySolano account telling you how to access the course as soon as you can access the course.

READ the information on the www.solanonline.org site, it is updated regularly with information you need.

Keep in mind you won't be able to log in until 5 days before the semester starts. After that, use your MySolano "User name" as your SOLANOnline "Student ID" and your MySolano password to login in at www.solanonline.org. (This is NOT the same student id you might have used in Summer or Fall of 2008)!

If you still have questions - please email SCC Distance Education at de@solano.edu.

Read This First... if you are interested in registering for an onlineor hybrid class.

To participate in an online or hybrid class, you must have access to a computer and the Internet, and a good fast connection will make life much easier. You must also be prepared to check your MySolano email box frequently.  If you have questions about your computer's readiness for online instruction, you will want to review the Technical Requirements.

If you have already enrolled for an online or hybrid class, check your email for directions about logging in when your course is scheduled to begin, or a few days before.
