ASSC Mission Statement

We, the Associated Students of Solano Community College (ASSC), do ordain and establish a student government committed to effective student participation in all areas of student concern.

Furthermore, we shall, through independent action and in concert with the college community exhibit leadership by example and encourage academic excellence; we shall participate in the development, augmentation, and improvement of educational programs.

Additionally, we pledge to protect freedom of assembly, diversity, and expression. We shall tirelessly advocate the right of students to participate at all levels of governance; moreover, we shall provide services and coordinate activities for students, and advance the ideal of responsible citizenship.

Any interested student with a 2.3 cumulative GPA or above in classes taken at the College, and enrolled in at least 6 units each semester is eligible to submit an application to be considered for ASSC President, Vice President, Student Trustee, or Legislative Advocate. All senators must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and have earned at least a 2.0 GPA in SCC coursework.  Applications and specific eligibility requirements for Executive Board and Student Senate are available in the Student Development Office.

The weekly meetings of ASSC are open to all students, staff, and faculty, and are traditionally held on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. in Room 1404. Check the ASSC Office or Student Development Office for meeting agendas and minutes. Attend a meeting and see student leadership in action.
