Student Services FAQ
- Degrees/Graduation
Why won't I get my diploma at the Graduation Ceremony? Why does it takes so long to get it?
Approximately 700 - 800 degrees and certificates are awarded each year. The evaluators actually perform two evaluation processes per student. The
first evaluation is to determine if the student is eligible for graduation (if all
required classes have been completed.) Once this first evaluation process has taken place, the student will receive his/her
copy of his/her degree
evaluation checksheet. This checksheet informs the student of his/her standing at the present time. The second evaluation takes place after
the semester ends and all grades have been submitted by instructors and
scanned to the student's record. The evaluators will then perform the second
evaluation to verify that the student did successfully complete his/her
required courses. Once this process is completed for all petitions, the degrees and
certificates are printed. Upon printing completion, the degrees and
certificates are packaged into their covers by the evaluators for delivery
to the student. The student is then notified by postcard that their degree
or certificate is ready for him/her to pick up. This
process usually takes from three to six weeks after the end of the semester.
