- Financial Aid
Does Solano Community College help students pay
for fees and college expenses?
Yes, the college has an Office of Financial Aid in Room 162 of the Library Building. Fee waivers are available to those California residents who qualify.
The fee waiver covers the enrollment fee and all other mandatory fees.
The college also offers federal programs in three general forms: grants, part-time work and loans. Students apply for federal aid by using the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid. Students must reapply each year during the month of January.
Are there any programs that help pay for books?
Yes, the Associated Students (ASSC) has a limited revolving fund used for emergency book loans ($l00 per student). This program is administered by the Financial Aid Office
and serviced by the Bookstore. Students are encouraged to repay their loan as soon as possible so that more students can be helped.
The EOPS Office provides book grants to students who meet the eligibility requirements to be accepted in the EOPS Program. Contact the EOPS
office, Room 1104, Building 1100 for further information.
Does the college help students find work to help pay for college
expenses?
Yes, the Office of Financial Aid offers College Work Study jobs to eligible students, and the Student
Job Placement Services Office provides free
employment assistance to all students and alumni interested in full or part-time employment.
In mid-semester a student qualifies for financial assistance retroactive to
the previous semester. Can the student's fees from the previous semester be refunded?
The student's fees from the previous semester may be refunded only if the
College can still be reimbursed by the state.
