Student Services FAQ
- Prerequisites
Do I have to complete the
prerequisite course to enroll in this class?
State regulations require that course prerequisites be enforced at the time of
registration. You may be blocked from enrolling in a course if you haven't satisfied the prerequisite. If you haven't completed the prerequisite at Solano
Community College, you have three options:
- Enroll in the prerequisite course
- Submit proof of completion (transcript, report card, written
verification from the instructor, etc.)
- If you have not completed the
prerequisite and wish to challenge it, you must meet with a counselor or faculty member.
If I took a prerequisite course at another college, how can I
get cleared for registration?
Meet with a counselor to have that course entered into the computer or submit proof of completion to the Office of Admissions
and Records. You will need to bring a transcript, either official or unofficial, with you so the counselor
can verify the course(s) taken.
If I want to challenge a prerequisite, what do I do?
You will need to complete a Request to Challenge a Prerequisite form and meet with the appropriate Division Dean.
