SUCCESS Consortium - Employment Opportunities

The SUCCESS (Solano University and Community College Educational Support Services) Consortium is an academic development program serving elementary, secondary and/or community college students.

We are hiring part time advisors and part-time facilitators. Qualified candidates must be enrolled in at least 6 college units. We are seeking qualified college student employees who want to gain experience in an educational setting. Employees are expected to provide motivation and college planning information to high school, middle school or elementary students at our sites. Our service sites are located in Solano, Yolo, Napa, and Sacramento counties. We work with students from groups with historically low college eligibility and attendance rates. You will work with large groups, small groups and individual students. Completion of necessary activity associated paperwork and record keeping is mandatory.

Positions start at $9.25 per hour. Available positions range from 5 to 16 hours per week. Attendance at an unpaid orientation session is required. Once hired, paid training is provided. Attendance at training sessions is mandatory. Work hours may be scheduled before, after, or during school depending on the site(s) assigned.

Requirements:

1. Ability to work the entire school year, from date assigned through May ending date
    
2. Ability to work independently
    
3. Good public speaking and organizational skills
    
4. Ability to work well with people from diverse ethnic, economic, and age backgrounds
    
5. At least a "B" average in subject(s) to be tutored/facilitated
    
6. Consistent and timely attendance
    
7. Your own means of transportation
    
8. Ability to complete daily record keeping
