Recently a consultant was engaged to assist the district in preparing a technology plan. The consultant spent three days visiting the main campus, the Vacaville Center and the Vallejo JFK site where he talked with faculty, classified staff and managers about the district’s technology needs. The consultant gathered information about existing technology, visions and plans for the future and any other available planning documents.

A draft technology plan was then prepared that attempts to incorporate all the information gathered by the consultants. Feedback on that draft was solicited from all employees, and sent to the consultant for incorporation into the plan when appropriate. That second draft of the plan is now ready for your review.

The intent is to provide everyone an opportunity to provide feedback additional on the plan. This additional feedback will then be evaluated and synthesized and appropriate changes will again be made be made to the plan by SCC staff. The plan will then be formally published and approved by the Governing Board before the end of the fall semester. The plan will be incorporated into the regular planning processes and updated as required on an annual basis.
