Step 2 - Complete Orientation

When you have submitted an application and reviewed VIP Steps 1-7e, you can submit the online completion form.  Your records will be updated showing that you have completed orientation.

Do I really need Orientation?

The Virtual Information Program (VIP) Orientation meets a requirement mandated by the State Education Code as part of Matriculation.

VIP gives you important information you need to be successful at Solano Community College.

Orientation gives you a strong foundation to build the walls (classes) and roof (graduation) for your education.

Do I have to do the orientation online?

No, you have another choice:

• You may take an 8-week course called COUN 101, College Success for one-half (0.5) unit of credit.

This 8-week course provides an in-depth orientation to college by describing Solano Community College student support services, basic study skills, time management, goal setting, decision making, Associate Degree requirement overview, transfer requirements for UC and CSU, and academic regulations at Solano Community College.
