As a result of successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the understanding of methods, strategies and sequence of drills needed to learn and improve data entry skill. 2. To use the numeric keypad by touch, and to develop the speed and accuracy using industry standards. 3. To skillfully apply the 10-key knowledge to a variety of data entry situations: a. data entry employment b. on-line, point-of-sale entries c. spreadsheet d. accounting |

| Pre- and post-tests, charts, evaluation of required drills, observations, and applications will be required of students to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise needed to be employable. |

| 13. Course Content Outline: |
The content of this course requires students to be able to analyze problem areas, evaluate and develop a learning sequencing, recognize effective concepts, and apply correct diagnostic and appraisal principles. Areas covered include, but are not limited to:
I. Instructions A. Read specific directions for use of computer program. B. Review keystroking and positioning techniques. C. Read and understand agenda of cycle activities.
II. Diagnostic A. Do timings for diagnosis of accuracy, speed, and strokes. B. Evaluate and graph timing results.
III. Drills A. Do drills for accuracy and speed including, but not limited to: 1. Review all vertical keystrokes 2. Review all horizontal keystrokes 3. Take various job application/employment testing. |
