Spring 2016 Elections
Your Student Government Needs You!
The Associated Students of Solano College, your student representatives on campus, will be holding our annual elections this semester and we are looking for leaders to run for office!
Student governments are a great way to build your resume and earn valuable real-world experience in leadership, organization, and advocacy. The ASSC supports student culture, student representation, and student rights on campus. We participate at all levels of college administration and provide student perspective on all decisions made in our district that relate to student affairs. We also represent our college at regional and national conferences, and collaborate with representatives from other colleges in California through the Student Senate of California Community Colleges.
The ASSC is looking for students interested in running for President and Vice President (these two positions run as a single ticket), Student Trustee, and Legislative Advocate. If you are interested in running, fill out a Declaration of Candidacy packet from the Student Life Office, room 1425 in the Student Center. For more information, please visit the Student Life Office, write the ASSC Election Chair, Jenna De Los Angeles , at firstname.lastname@example.org or Dr. Slade at (707) 863-7839.
Declaration of Candidacy Forms will be available from February 9th, 2016. The deadline to declare candidacy will be February 26th, 2016.
Student representation is an essential component to a college's decision-making process, and is protected by state law. We need you. The ASSC hopes you will choose to run!
