Direct Loans Application Process

Apply for a Loan in 4 Steps
Follow these steps when applying for a Direct Stafford Loan. For more detailed information, look at the FAQs. Check back here soon for an updated Loan Information Packet (PDF) and 2012-2013 Direct Loan Application (PDF).
STEP 1
Complete the Direct Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling at:
www.studentloans.gov
STEP 2
Sign the Master Promissory Note with the Department of Education using your 4 digit FAFSA PIN # at:
www.studentloans.gov
STEP 3
Complete and print (Unavailable until fall semester begins), (including the Budget Calculator) and attach a Student Educational Plan.
Submit these in person to the Financial Aid window, Bldg. 400 2nd floor, OR submit the Loan packet to the Vacaville or Vallejo campus.
You MUST submit your forms in person with a current Driver's License or Picture ID.
A copy of your ID will be made, and attached to your loan documents for security purposes.
DO NOT mail, fax, or send your loan documents with another person.
They will NOT be accepted!!
