How to Register for the Fire Academy – Fire 140

Before you can register for Fire 140 (Fire Academy), you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Obtain a current (within a one year period) CPAT card. The CPAT card can be obtained by going to the following website and registering to take the test:
    http://www.cffjac.org/go/jac/cpat/

  2. Complete Fire 050, Fire 101, and EMT 128 courses at Solano Community College or equivalent courses from another college with a grade of “C” or better and provide an official transcript to the Vacaville Center showing you have completed the course.

  3. Complete a “Petition to Carry an Excess Load” located at:
    http://www.solano.edu/ar/1213/Petition-Carry%20Excess%20Load%2011.19.12%20NB.pdf
You must bring all three items listed above with a photo ID to the Vacaville Center located at 2001 North Village Parkway during business hours. All these documents should be turned into the Vacaville Center prior to the earliest registration date for the semester you are applying for. All registration dates for the Fire Academy are the same registration dates for Solano Community College.

Please see Dates and Deadlines by clicking Here to find out when you are eligible to register.

The Fire Academy only accepts the first 30 applicants per Academy. So it is imperative that you complete all your prerequisites listed above and have turned them into the Vacaville Center before registration begins for the semester.
