About ASSC

The Associated Students of Solano Community College (ASSC) is the official student government, dedicated to representing the voice and interests of SCC students. ASSC works to ensure active student participation in campus decision-making, advocates for student rights, and supports a vibrant campus life through services, events, and leadership opportunities. By protecting freedom of assembly, diversity, and expression, ASSC fosters responsible citizenship while encouraging academic excellence and student engagement.

Students can get involved by running for elected positions—such as President, Vice President, Student Trustee, or Legislative Advocate—or by applying for open Senate seats. ASSC meets weekly on Fridays from 12:30–2:00 p.m. in Room 1421, and all interested students are welcome to participate.

We, the Associated Students of Solano Community College (ASSC), do ordain and establish a student government committed to effective student participation in all areas of student concern.  Furthermore, we shall, through independent action and in concert with the college community, exhibit leadership by example and encourage academic excellence; and we shall participate in the development, augmentation, and improvement of educational programs.  Additionally, we pledge to protect freedom of assembly, diversity, and expression. We shall tirelessly advocate the right of students to participate at all levels of governance. Moreover, we shall provide services and coordinate activities for students, and advance the ideal of responsible citizenship.
