Identity Verification Resource Guide
Supporting a Secure and Successful Enrollment Process
Beginning in 2026, students applying to California Community Colleges through OpenCCC and CCCApply are required to verify their identity as part of the enrollment process. Identity verification helps protect students, reduce financial aid fraud, and enhance the security of the admissions process.
Identity verification confirms that the information submitted belongs to the student completing the application. Verification does not determine admission eligibility, citizenship status, residency status, or financial aid eligibility.
Identity verification helps:
-
Protect your personal information
-
Prevent fraud and unauthorized use of student identities
-
Ensure admissions records are linked to the correct student
-
Improve the security of financial aid and student services
-
Support a safe and trusted enrollment experience for all students
