Present ID
What is the Present ID requirement?
Board policy requires us to safeguard the identity of our students and ensure that anyone who interacts financially with Solano Community College is not using a stolen identity.
As a result, we are now requiring all new financial aid applicants to appear in person and present two forms of identification, with at least one being photo identification.
Examples of acceptable identification include:
- Unexpired state-issued driver’s license
- Unexpired state-issued identification card
- Unexpired passport
- Social Security card
- Current residential lease or billing statement with address that matches the address we have on file for you (Electronic versions are acceptable but they must be presented in-person at the time of the ID verification. If you are a dependent of the person whose name appears on the lease or billing statement, that is OK.)
- Car registration with matching address
- Birth certificate
Why can’t I just email you or do a Zoom call?
Recent developments in AI have made it increasingly difficult to verify student identity. Bad actors use automated processes to submit thousands of fictitious enrollments using stolen identities.
If there is a reason that you absolutely cannot appear in person for the purpose of verifying your identity so that you can receive financial aid, please complete and mail the In-Person ID Requirement Waiver form to:
