Math Engineering Science Achievement (MESA)

What is MESA?

MESA’s community college level program produces a diverse population of transfer-ready students to advance their STEM educational trajectories to 4-year university programs and future careers. MESA’s mission is to increase the numbers of economically and educationally disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in STEM. MESA serves about 5,700 community college students and 15,700 pre-college students statewide.

Solano Community College MESA Center Mission

The mission of the Solano Community College MESA Center is to increase transfer ready MESA students through focused STEM academic support, counseling, mentoring, professional development, and industry connection. Through increased leadership skills, educational expectations, and community building, Solano Community College MESA students will be prepared to become the next generation of Science, Technology, Engineering leaders.

 

To qualify for the MESA program,  you must:

  • Be a US citizen/ Permanent resident/ AB 540/ DACA
  • Declare a STEM major that requires Calculus I
  • Other financial and educational requirements may need to be met
  • Be a first-generation college student.
  • Be working toward transfer and a first bachelor’s degree. Be majoring in a STEM field approved by the MESA grant criteria.
